CONTINUING EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM GUIDELINES
AND APPLICATION 2017 (ACADEMIC)

Each scholarship granted under this program may be up to $1,000.00, plus a one year individual
membership in the National ICRI and the Baltimore Washington Chapter of ICRI. The award
shall be for one year. Applicants may reapply for subsequent years. The Scholarship Award may be
used towards an accredited institution of higher learning, professional certification program or a
continuing educational program. The winner will have to submit an accountability of the Scholarship Award.

ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for the ICRI-BWC Scholarship Award, you must have substantially completed or will
complete at least two (2) years of study at an accredited two (2) or four (4) year college, university,
or vocational-technical school. Although not a requirement, students who focus their study in the
field of concrete design, concrete repair, engineering (Civil or Structural), or construction management may be given preference in awarding the scholarships. To receive consideration for the Scholarship Award, the student must currently be attending class within the boundaries of the ICRI Baltimore-Washington Chapter (including Northern Virginia, District of Columbia or Maryland) or have a parent or close relative as a current Chapter member.

SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE
Members of the scholarship committee will evaluate the applicants and provide the Board of Directors with their selections. The Board of Directors will make final approval.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Selection will be made by the Scholarship Committee on the basis of merit, scholarship, income, goals, involvement with ICRI-BWC Chapter, extracurricular achievement, character, meritorious service and application criteria such as transcripts, recommendations, etc. The Scholarship Committee will notify the recipient by October 28, 2016. All applicants will be notified of the final selections at that time.
The applicant will have to submit:
1. The scholarship application
2. A current transcript (if applicable).
3. Three letter(s) of recommendation.

PAYMENT OF SCHOLARSHIP
A check will be made payable to the institution the scholarship recipient is attending, only after recipient completes registration. The award may go directly to the recipient with proof of registration and receipt of payment to the institution. Recipients may be eligible to continue to receive the scholarship conditional upon satisfactory progress toward completion of the degree requirements, and the availability of scholarship funds: however, a new application form with current transcript must be submitted in order to be considered.

RESPONSIBILITY OF SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT
1. Scholarship recipient must enroll in a college or university, professional certification program
or continuing educational program in the fall of the year in which scholarships are awarded,
and continue in that institution or program that entire academic year or until the program is completed without interruption, barring illness or emergencies.
2. The recipient should maintain satisfactory progress toward completion of the degree requirements.
3. A recipient who leaves the institution or program and does not complete the course of study during the period for which he or she has received a scholarship may be required to return the award.
4. A recipient may be required to participate in the annual meeting of the association by reporting on his or her academic progress. Recipients must also agree to participate in any follow-up studies conducted by the association.
5. Recipient must respond within 30 days of award to receive it.
6. Scholarship recipient will be invited to the November 2, 2017 ICRI dinner meeting.

ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for the ICRI-BWC Scholarship (Industry) Award you must be:
1. An employee (full-time, part-time) of an ICRI-BWC Member Company or an individual ICRI-BWC Member; and
2. All applicants must be a U.S. citizen or a resident alien.

Directors with their selections. The Board of Directors will make final approval.
